Langstane Housing Association are supporting #ChallengePovertyWeek which runs from Monday 7 - Sunday 13 October, 2024.

This week is an opportunity to join us and over 100 other organisations across Scotland to raise your voice against poverty and promote compassion and justice. In Scotland, it's wrong that 1 in 5 people are locked in poverty and struggling to get by every day. More and more of us are being pulled towards a current of poverty, by rising costs and inadequate incomes that simply don't meet our needs.

Challenge Poverty Week is an annual event which is coordinated and delivered by The Poverty Alliance. The first Challenge Poverty week took place back in 2013 and has become a core event for those doing anti-poverty work.

Events

Challenge Poverty Week – Screening and Dialogue

Fairer Aberdeen Fund partners invite you to a special event to mark Challenge Poverty Week (7th – 13th October 2024). The event is aimed at raising awareness of the lived experience of poverty and inequality of Aberdeen’s communities, as well as creating a space to share, consider and discuss opportunities and ideas that will help us make the shift towards a fairer and more equitable society. The event will include a combination of short films, presentations, panel Q&A, and lived experience discussion groups – a detailed programme will be shared nearer the time.

Light refreshments will be provided.
